How to Get Rid of Candida Naturally

Lets discuss the dreaded Candida.

Candida is a yeast found on our skin and in our mouths and stomachs. It typically thrives in small amounts and is no bother to the human body.

But sometimes, this yeast multiplies out of control and becomes Candidiosis, a yeast infection.

Over-the-counter and prescription medications prescribed by your doctor usually take care of Candidiosis. But if you’re reading this post, you’re wondering how to treat naturally. Keep reading to find out more!

A Deeper Look Into Candida

Candida has multiple strains that all affect the body in different areas. Candida affects other body areas such as the mouth, throat, genital area, and skin.

Today, we specifically address the strain Candida glabrata (C. glabrata).

Candida glabrata is found in the natural biome of your gut’s microflora. It helps your digestive health by absorbing nutrients. Gut bacteria help control C. glabrata. But as we said before, this yeast can multiply when the natural bacteria levels are disrupted.

How Do You Get Candida?

Three significant circumstances typically cause Candida:

  • Eating too much sugar and processed foods: Yeast loves to feed off sugars, and heavy carbs break down into sugars when digested. They also suppress the immune system and bring about inflammation in the body.
  • Autoimmune conditions: Scientists have found that Candida and autoimmune diseases go together. It’s possible that Candida is partly responsible for Leaky Gut.
  • Overconsumption of antibiotics: Antibiotics kill the harmful bacteria in your body and the good bacteria. Too many antibiotics disrupt the natural biome in your gut, hence compromising your immune system.

Simply put, if your gut is healthy, it’s unlikely for your body to develop candidiosis. This is one of the many reasons why it’s important to maintain proper digestive health.

But how do you identify Candidiosis specifically in the gut? Let’s review some of the symptoms commonly associated with the infection.

How To Get Rid of Candida Naturally

When treating Candida, you have to ask yourself where the cause lies.

Are you taking antibiotics? Could it be your diet? Do you possess an existing autoimmune disorder?

Ask the right questions so you can seek the correct answers.

Often Candida is easy to treat. However, if you want a more holistic approach to healing, then here’s how to solve it.

Eat a Candida Diet

A Candida diet means eating foods that suppress the Candida yeast causing the infection. Of all the solutions, your diet is absolute for healing.

We mentioned earlier that sugars and carbs feed Candida yeast. Processed foods often have additional sugars, fat content, and other toxins that wreak havoc on your gut and cause microbiome imbalance.

You also want to remove any alcohol, caffeine, and dairy from your diet. At least until your body has healed.

But there are a few foods to include in your diet that help with and even fight Candida.

  • Coconut oil: Coconut oil is antifungal. Coconut oil is a healthy oil high in caprylic acid, which helps break down yeast cell walls. In 2007, a lab study found that coconut oil was mightly effective, killing multiple species of Candida, including C. glabrata
  • Ginger and Garlic: Ginger and Garlic, two powerful root herbs, are antibacterial, antifungal, and antimicrobial. Garlic and ginger are consumed in many different ways if eating them raw isn’t your thing. Powdered spices, teas, and even ginger shots exist.
  • Apple cider vinegar & lemon juice: Apple cider vinegar (ACV) and lemon juice are also antifungals. Notice how many of the antifungals are acidic? ACV can easily be a substitute for heavy salad dressings. You can add lemon juice to warm water in the morning for a fresh start to the day.
  • Brassicas: Brassicas include kale, cabbage, broccoli, and Brussel sprouts, to name a few. Scientists learned that brassica juice helped kill a species of Candida. It could help with C. glabrata.

  • Probiotics

Probiotics are live bacteria that balance our gut. A lot of doctors will prescribe probiotics in conjunction with antibiotics to keep the natural microbiome balanced.

Probiotics come in pill, powder, and liquid forms. You can even drink probiotic drinks, like kombucha. The kind you choose depends on your preferences.

Sunny Culture probiotic shots are quite popular. Our shots are liquid, so they’re easy to drink. Plus, they taste good! We offer a variety of flavors, including Elderberry Ginger, Ginger Lemon, Turmeric Ginger, and Lemon Spirulina!
